Has anybody else seen this show yet? It just came out on the 14th I think. It's only 2 episodes in but so far it looks like it has a lot of potential to be really good. If you haven't seen it you should definitely check it out :3

Has anybody else seen this show yet? It just came out on the 14th I think. It's only 2 episodes in but so far it looks like it has a lot of potential to be really good. If you haven't seen it you should definitely check it out :3 Well, Production IG is doing it so it's going to be gold. They did Kimi ni Todoke, Sengoku Basara, Blood+ and Blood-C, FLCL, Ghost in the Shell and much more. This season's anime is pretty tricky. I was hoping Guilty Crown would pick up from it's "flat chest idol girl is part of a resistance group and suddenly gets normal boy caught up in it" and it did with the somber bloodbath in ep 2. Doesn't the show feel like a mashup of C-The Possibility of Soul and Money Control, Eureka Seven, and Code Geass? DISCUSSION TIME! Do you not think it's strange the special squad assigned to capture the Inori and her stolen goods, just let a potential accomplice and witness go away? They didn't even check the near computer for any kind of proof, nor did they checked the boy for weapon or proof of his friendship with the girl, nor did they actually searched for anything. They simply capture her and bye bye, but wait, what they really were searching was the uber secret VOID stuff. Yeah better burn the whole city down, than just search a bit the place where you found the culprit. >_> In the city ruins, he meets the terrorist syndicate (still is hard to believe he actually could reach that place without being stabbed after 100 meters inside the ruins, buy nvm), and Tsugumi reached out for her little robot instantly, then the big boss went insulting the kid because he didn't fight a bunch of armed soldiers to protect a complete stranger (Inori), whom is probably a terrorist too. Yeah right, I would feel really guilty and coward to let them capture her. Meanwhile the UBER SECRET VOID stuff is still in the kid front pocket for all to see, but no one seems to care to finally retrieve it. Nah... better leave it there for now, until it is to late to actually take it. Do you think the Shu had any plans when he ran across the street to hug the girl in front of 2 giant machine-guns robots? Did he run there just to die like a true man or what? I can understand the value of sacrifice for others, even for a terrorist stranger, still this does not allow meaningless suicide. What he was doing there is called stupidity because I do not want to live on this planet anymore. And there were 2 mechs but when he starts to fight there's suddenly 1?!?!?!?! Oh man, the second episode. I find the approach this anime's taken to be both ironic and hilarious. It works so hard to be as similar to Code Geass as possible without actually being Code Geass, yet at the same time fails entirely to understand what made Code Geass great in the first place. Allow me to illustrate:
Guilty Crown: You've been given the Power of the Kings. You can now do by your lone self what a thousand men could never hope to accomplish. Also, here's your hot magic girl. Shuu: Ah, um, ow... *sob* I miss my boring, ordinary life.
Code Geass: You've been given the Power of the Kings. You can now do by your lone self what a thousand men could never hope to accomplish. Also, here's your hot magic girl. Lelouch: Oh? Then please bear with me as I CONQUER THE WORLD. All those who wronged me, yes, they shall pay.

I saw the first episode. It is practically the same as the first episode of Code Geass. I was so disgusted, I couldn't watch the next one. Then a friend tells me it's the same writer. One trick pony much? //orz

Yep, Hiroyuki Yoshino did the script to Guilty Crown and is also the one of the series composer. He was the assistant series composer and did the script for 3 episodes in Code Geass. Finished ep. 3 while cooking dinner. So far Gai, lead terrorist guy is my fav. character. Totally lol'd when Shu was running around pulling out people's Voids and they were weird shit like a vase, pliers, a fridge. "Voids are the shape of peoples' hearts." I guess fridge guy eats his feelings? Yahiro could have totally been okay if he was like "Shu, I know I'm friendly and all but I'm not gay. So please don't called by 'sugar.' Or sweetie pie or pumpkin. But naw, he had to go and be dick. Totes like their in series soda: DR GINGER

This series, oh god. I think I am hooked. Also, I agree with Faiga on the Gai comment.
